Saw someone talking about playing a new save file for stardew, and so they drew march and sebastian together to commemorate it. It got me thinking about how honestly, I didn't really like sebastian at all and I only went after him on every one of my playthroughs because he was the closest to my type.
I decided to make a venn diagram to better represent what I mean.
I prefer most everything on march's side in comparison to seb, who's stuff i'm not really all that about. I guess it's just too much negativity? I don't really know how to put it. Anyway, I find it really difficult for me to go back to sebastian, let alone stardew, after tasting the crack that is mistria and march. I love him so much.......
that's all i'm posting for today though because I have to go to sleep and attend my longsword class tomorrow... a sword is really heavy if you don't have the grip strength... wauhh!!!
a few days ago the 1.0.8 update released and the main highlight of it for me was, apparently, the spanish version of the game reverted everyone's names back to english.
I had no idea they changed them for spanish??? So of course, I got super curious and tried checking it out for myself before the game updated, but alas steam wouldn't let me open the game without doing so first...
Regardless, I still decided to try it out to see what everything was like, and noticed that only ONE person's name hadn't changed.
there's no wheedle anymore. only engatuso.
I did end up looking up what everyone was named before, and it seemed like everyone's names that were based on something did change. Maple, Hemlock, and Juniper were based off the plant so they were Arce, Cicuto, and Junípera respectively. Dozy was Modorro which also means drowsy, Hayden was Henaro which just means hayfield, and Merri was Feli instead because merri is short for merriment and feli is short for feliz (or felicidad) and i think her being happiness is really cute. I had a suspicion March would've been changed because I figured his name was based off his month, so I wasn't surprised when his name was changed to Marzón, and it did confirm for me why they changed his birthday from being in summer to spring instead in the game's release (cuz march is in spring). It reads to me as his parents being really bad at picking names though because Olric has a very similar name to their father, Olin, and March was born in march LOL. The only other name that got changed and I didn't really get though was Reina, who became Rei. I didn't get it because.... Reina already means something in spanish...? it means queen.. is that not what they were going for...
Anyway to end off this whole text dump of a post, I thought this dialogue march said was cute.
tl: I can't keep him(olric) from seeing his cutest niece.
In most dialects of spanish, guapo/a means handsome or pretty/cute, but for dominicans specifically it's instead used to mean grumpy. So it's kind of a funny double-meaning for me since Fray inherited his perpetual frown, hehe.

I thought about coloring this one because it makes more sense when you can actually see that my hair is green, but also i'm lazy. I should mention the reason why it IS green though, because it actually wasn't made to be in contrast to march (red & green are complimentary colors).

Before I got into fields of mistria, like most players probably, I was also really into stardew valley. I think it's obvious I went for sebastian, but i had my gripes so I very gladly fully dropped him after I stopped playing LOL. Anyway, I wanted to make my player character more interesting than just looking like me, so I decided on green hair and this short half-braided hairstyle that i thought was super cute.
I haven't shared it yet, but for my wedding sprite, i did make my hairstyle reminiscent of my stardew one as a little callback (also it's still really cute).
y'know, I just realized how that previous drawing looks like instead. I didn't mean to!! I haven't even drawn us kissing yet!!!!! Is that even believable?! i'm just really bad at it!!!!!!!
okay here's the second one for today! i've been so busy because I was trying to code those moon solstice pages, but i think i can get back to doing these ACTUALLY daily now.
anyways! I have a list of headcanons I have for march (maybe i'll make a post...) and among them is that he would sleep shirtless. SOMETHING in their family gene makes it so they love showing off their body I swear, because olric constantly comments about how he loves how the rain accentuates his muscles, how he wants to wear short shorts, and march is one of the only two bachelors to be completely shirtless at the beach!!! okay eiland does too but is he really even one (I still need to revisit my mod ideas for a she/her eiland..) Anyways it just makes sense to me with him also running hot, to not want to wear a shirt to bed. NOT GOOD FOR MY HEART THOUGH!!
me and two of my best friends have been going through kingdom come deliverance 2 together, and we reached the point of the game where the legacy of the forge dlc started. All you do is do commissions for people and help complete quests to rank up your forge, and you're reconnecting the main character to his father who Also was a blacksmith along the way... and the minigame just looks so satisfying....
so of course, what ELSE would I get him to play? HAHAHA
I really like exploring and looking at all the little things in the game (especially since it's all I can really do in the game now for entertainment), and I just wanted to make a small post talking about how adorable it is finding photos and such of characters in people's houses. I just find it really endearing and I love bits of world building like this.
when i'm not already super busy with a bunch of other things, i'll make some more posts talking about more stuff in the game I like or find mildly interesting. Like how landen and ryis just cook all the food RIGHT next to the workshop???? there's a guy on youtube who's actually eaten bread with varying amounts of sawdust in it, so i fear they've taken inspiration.
march with my personality really just is olric HAHAHA. tbh! Beyond surface level, I don't think we're that different at all. It's just he hates expressing himself, meanwhile i'm on the complete opposite end lol
sometimes when i'm really struggling to draw something digitally, I try again traditionally and it usually works out. You don't get that same level of control on digital as you do actually drawing on paper (or whatever else), so it's nice for a refresher.
also yes I know i'm an entire day late, but i'll get started on the actual one for today!! eeek..

though i'm glad they didn't have an achievement for getting every single color for every single animal because then it really would've taken a long time for me... I only have the alpacas fully completed because I wanted the tier 6 fall variant to ride around with. Skeleton is cool.
I'm actually so exhausted from drawing and coding the whole night that this was all i could muster... I find it pretty funny that in a town full of people with naturally pink, purple, and blue hair, the red head is the only one who dyes it LOL.
someone made on twitter made a yumetober prompt sheet and so i'll be trying to follow it, but also have another sheet ready just in case I don't like the prompt for the day. I've already started so here's yesterday's.

I'd like to think march leans more into the adventurer aspect of being a guild member, but in reality he's more of a wandering craftsman together with olric. They would take up renovating mistria's farmland as a challenge and for a place to make into their own.
Unsure if i'd be working alone blacksmithing though... irl i'll start a workshop with my friends in a few years, but unsure if they would be with me in this au. Anyway since i'll definitely be competing with ryis for his love now, i'll be making any and every tool he could want so i can win him over! my evil evil plan!! muahahahaha!!!!!!
also that area full of wheat all the way at the bottom of the eastern road? absolutely no way that won't be a new location either. HOW CAN WE NOT EXPLORE THE FIELDS IN FIELDS OF MISTRIA??? I have no idea what would be there, but i sure do love exploring.
mark my words, the lighthouse is most definitely going to be repairable in the future and WILL lead to a new location like ginger island in sdv. i've theorized it since the beginning, and with guaranteed content updates after the last 1.0 release, i'm SO ready.
One of my best friends got me into this website called Bakatako where you draw for community voted prompts every single day. The prompt was "Draw a character you like" so there was no way i was gonna draw something halfbaked for march!!!
I really like it since i drew it only using the website's program, but also there's a giant glaring mistake only I would seemingly care about.

I wanted to draw him in a cool blacksmithing pose, but also wanted to have the funny detail of him being in the process of making nails (since that's what he does all day).. but... I only decided that AFTER I had drawn the pose. So the problem is that he's winding up like CRAZY for a tiny nail, and now it looks he's just going to flatten that thing instead of tapering it LOL.
I've been attempting to make my own portrait for my farmer, but good GOD it's been a nightmare.
I'm only showing this single one, because after multiple iterations, it's the one i'm happiest with.
let me tell you something. I am absolutely TERRIBLE AT DESIGN!
I try my best to create an outfit in-game and then draw it, but honestly most of the clothing options just aren't to my liking! it's impossible!!
so when I try to design something NOT using what's in the game (while still abiding by it's rules), i'm just so lost because I don't want to riff off the pre-existing characters. It's hard for me to branch out because i'm just not knowledgable enough in fashion styles, let alone ones that I both like and still fit the vibes... sigh........
suffice to say, WAAAAAAAHHH I HATE DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE! so i'll just be doing my own thing. I hope it's at least fun to see.. it's really fun for me, but it's a whole other thing actually showing people beyond my little circle... *blush*
